About the competition
There are three stages to the competition.
The qualifying rounds are played at numerous golf courses throughout Australia. These qualifying rounds will be held between November 2018 and May 2019. A detailed itinerary lists all of the golf courses holding qualifying rounds and can be accessed on the Club Events List. This list is regularly updated.
The winner (winners) of a qualifying round advances to a regional final providing that a minimum of 48 players have played in the same qualifying round (this number can be altered at the discretion of Stoney Creek Golf Match Ccommittee). If more than 96 players play in one qualifying round then the winner and runner up of that qualifying round will advance to a regional final. There must be a minimum of 10 qualifying rounds per state in order for that state to host a regional final.
The regional finals are played at premier golf courses throughout Australia in June 2019.
The winner of each regional final will then be invited to play in the National Final at Hamilton Island in mid to late 2019.
Each player entering to play in a qualifying round will pay a $40 (Inc GST) entry fee at the time of making their booking or at least 5 days prior to the start of that competition. The Club which is hosting the qualifying round may at its sole discretion charge an additional playing fee which is separate from the entry fee.
The regional finals will have a minimal cost for each player. This is on par with standard fees for playing on premier courses.
The national final has an entry fee of $300 per player ... a bargain when you consider it includes:
- Capital city air fares.
- Hamilton Island transfers
- 3 night’s accommodation with daily breakfast
- All green fees and cart hire.
- Welcome cocktail party
- Farewell dinner and presentation
- Lunch on golf days
Total Value $1800 plus.
At all levels of the competition players will receive an array of prizes for their efforts.
- A Sponsor Gift awaits all players who compete in the qualifying round. With the winners receiving the Major Gift of the day.
- The winners of the Regional Finals will receive the Winners Prize of the day, PLUS the opportunity to progress to the National Final.
